The idea of MPACK Endurance Gear, Inc. came about in 2005 during a moment of inspiration high up in the Enchantments wilderness of the North Cascade Mountain Range. Not only were current hydration products inconvenient to maintain, but once bacteria began to grow in them the water tasted awful.
Using four measures of success (convenience, cost effectiveness, durability, and desirable taste and odor), founder Christopher J. Benham, sought out a partnership with one of the leading plastics manufacturers of outdoor equipment to determine the optimal formulation for a disposable hydration reservoir.
